Monique Lu
Monique Lu was born in Taiwan. She spent eight years in mainland China and settled in Madison in 2017. She started an Instagram account during the pandemic to document her dumpling-making journey. Her full-time profession is working with international students at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Campaign: #dumpthehate
In April 2021, we joined Monique’s participation in the #dumpthehate campaign, a virtual dumpling-making fundraiser in response to the Atlanta spa shooting on March 16th. Originally initiated by Canadian chef-blogger Jannell Lo, the #dumpthehate campaign raises money for organizations fighting anti-Asian prejudice and violence through dumpling making. We are delighted to welcome Monique back into our demo kitchen to continue raising funds for Freedom, Inc. and building awareness around Asian culture and cooking. We back Monique’s vision that one way to understand someone’s culture is over a meal, using the power of food to heal and nourish. https://www.mybfisgf.com/dumpthehate
