Region: Monterey County, CA (Central Coast)
Viticulture/Vinification: In most cases, California is too warm to turn Gewürztraminer into it’s typical zippiness developed in traditional sub-alpine regions of Europe. Banyan’s an exception: it comes from a cool Monterey vineyard and is intentionally picked early enough to keep it charged with acidity.
Notes: Light, dry, and definitely aromatic. Peaches, lychee, rose petals, honey and apple blossom notes reign throughout the palette.
