Wednesday, August 2nd | 8:30am – 4:30pm| Field to Table Excursion & Cooking Class

Ever wanted to get up close and personal with fresh veggies growing in a geothermal greenhouse, meet the fluffiest of farm dogs, the cutest of chickens and the most preposterous of pigs?

Well, get excited, because we’re going on a field trip! Join us on Wednesday, August 2nd for a Field to Table Excursion and Cooking Class!

Starting at Pasture & Plenty, we’ll hop in vans and drive to Winterfell Acres, a farm owned and operated by our good friend Bethanee Wright and team. Winterfell focuses on intensive vegetable production, where one acre feeds 110 CSA families! In addition to veggies, they also produce specialty products like tree and bush fruits, artisanal pork, eggs, cut flowers, and teach chicken butchery and pig preservation classes on the farm.  At the farm, we’ll collect ingredients scavenger hunt style to cook with later in the afternoon, tour her geothermal greenhouse and meet those cute animals (yes, that cute dog pictured above is on the tour!). We’ll also get the opportunity to visit Root To Bloom’s flower farm next door to pick bouquets to take home!

On our way back to the kitchen at Pasture & Plenty, we’ll make a stop at Landmark Creamery, located in Paoli, run by Anna Landmark and Anna Thomas Bates who work with farmers to build sustainable, family-run dairies that support the local economy in Southern Wisconsin.

We will have a ploughman’s picnic lunch while we are adventuring, and then back to Pasture and Plenty for an afternoon of cooking with the bounty we bring home. At the end of the day you will have a farm fresh summer meal to take home! It’s going to be a delicious day, friends.

Our Field-to-Table Excursion and Cooking Class is for all ages. Come with friends, come with kiddos or come solo and feed your inner locavore!

*Parent/Child can register as a single seat up to age 12. Please note names and ages of all youth participants at checkout.

*Youth 13+ can attend on their own, with a guardian waiver. *All attendees ages 13+ require individual tickets.
