Spring Gala Fundraiser

Join Madison area chefs and producers for an evening of cooking + eating local cuisine to benefit Slow Food UW's food justice programs.

We are excited to promote Slow Food UW's Spring Gala Fundraiser! The evening will include a series of cooking demonstrations to guide you through a four course meal kit and an opportunity to hear about Slow Food UW's work and impact in this unprecedented year of Covid-19.

One full ticket includes a four-course meal kit for two, two curated natural wine accompaniments, a virtual recipe book, and access to the virtual event.

Saturday, April 24th | 6:30pm CST LIVE stream

Meal Kits (Omni + Veg) feed 2 people and include elements to cook and prepare the following menu:

  • Course 1 - local cheese selections | Anna Landmark of Landmark Creamery
  • Course 2 - baked polenta with black beans + oyster mushroom sauce topped with crumbled feta and fresh spring greens | Lauralyn Rosenberger + Mason Purtell of Elemeno
  • Course 3 - fish quenelle with spicy, creamy sauce topped with cilantro + parsley (without fish for vegetarian menu) + leek miso vinaigrette with mimosa eggs | Virginie Ok of La Kitchenette
  • Course 4 - chocolate selections | Megan Hile of Madison Chocolate Company
  • Natural wine selection by Molly Moran of Table Wine

Digital-only tickets are available! This option includes a virtual recipe book and access to the live event.

Meal kit delivery is also available for only meal kits WITHOUT alcohol. Delivery will take place 1-2 days before the event.

The event benefits Slow Food UW's programs that address barriers to food access in the South Madison community. Since 2008, Slow Food UW has engaged with community-led efforts in promoting "good, clean, and fair" food through cooking, gardening, and other food-based programming. Their work emphasizes that food is a right for all by addressing barriers that include and surpass access and empower individuals to reclaim their relationship with food.
